Hard to fault this place really. Well, if I'm forced, I'd say it's a bit out-of-the-way. I think most people that come here are on day trips to the area anyway, but if you're not, this is worth making into a day-trip.
Was here for a family lunch and have to say it impresses from the start. It's basically a family home that's been converted to a restaurant/tea rooms. For your meal you are located in a brigth/airy conservatory (I think it's sometimes called the 'Conservatory Tea Rooms') and are attended to be the owner and her staff (some of her friends I think - but it's good because everyone acts like they have a vested interest). The food was very good. I had a lovely Chicken Korma on safron rice which was delicious.
For desert we were moved to the sitting-room (maybe they call it something else, but that's essentailly what it is - family pics et al) where we were served tea/coffee, cheese and dessert. I had their sticky-toffee pudding. It was good enough to win a prize. We were then left to our own devices and only interrupted for tea/coffee top-ups, so it felt like we were in one of our own homes. A bit different, but excellent...
