I stayed here for a week, and it was awful. We booked through Surf Berber, and they either didn't know, or didn't care about the standard of accommodation that we were stuck in.

Here follows an unordered list of some of the problems we had with this place.

The apartment was not cleaned to western standards. The bathroom stank the place out from the moment we walked in, and the toilet subsequently blocked every few days. The water pump sounded like a pneumatic drill. There were exposed electrical wires sticking out of the walls (and sparking). There was not a single chest of drawers or wardrobe in the whole place. The area outside the balcony is used as a trash dump by the locals, one morning we woke to find a dead cat lying amongst the rubbish (the cat had died outside the front door the night before). The provided bed linen was a thin smelly quilt and a small sheet. Finally the kitchen window was merely leant up against the window frame, anyone could just pull it out and enter the apartment!

There was a local guy called Khalid who was the caretaker for the apartments, he was really nice, and the only good thing about this place.
