Rathsallagh is how you imagine a country house hotel should be - tucked away, welcoming and full of character.
I had lunch here on Sunday with my family and it was awesome - I can't remember the last time I had such a good Sunday lunch out. It was a buffet style lunch and each course was sublime - I had the beef for my main course which is carved in front of you and to your taste - rare, medium, well done, etc. - I really liked that. I was told that the beef is cooked slowly at 65 degrees for about 5-6 hours before being seared at a higher temperature - and to round it all off the beef comes from the local butcher down in Dunlavin.
Our lunch was finished off with a walk in the gardens and a half-arsed attempt at a game of croquet - Rathsallagh is a great place for a family lunch, a night away or a round of golf.
Rathsallagh is hidden in the hills of west wicklow with scenic views of the surrounding countryside. The course is great value at present and there are plenty of deals available for tee times online or by calling the course. If you go don't miss the club house special burger!
