The men's changing room gets very dirty and wet during peak hours in the LA Fitness West India Quay, Docklands branch. Lately, there's always problem with hot water shower - apparently issue with boiler but took a while to rectify.

If you go during peak hours, chances of you getting to use a decent machine is really slim. Have to wait or request fellow gym goers to swap. Dumb-bells are scattered all over the free-weight area and staff just turn a blind eye. Probably the responsibilty of gym goers to put back the free weights on the rack but no body seems to care...

Gym manager is forever on conference call when I ask to speak with him. I have terminated my contract with them recently and was sent a 2 seven-day guest pass to use the gym facilities as a goodwill gesture. Was told that I could drop in to my old gym and use the guest pass anytime before it expires in May 2013. Unfortunately when I turn up during off-peak period, receptionist told me that I need to book an appointment beforehand - another sales tactic to get me back on their books. Inconsistent information given and again, when asked to speak with manager, I was told that he's in a conference call... Again!

I would never go back to LA Fitness after this latest unpleasant encounter. Need to get their act together and not just focusing on getting new customers! Avoid at all cost, at least the one in West India Quay!!!

Well i have just joined and from what i saw it seems like a good enough gym. Had a sale on so got my membership for £49 per month half price from £100. But personally comparing LA Fitness and virgin active at both nornally £100 per month virgin active would get my vote anyday. Its not worth £100 per month certainly not so i think they could do some favours by stop pretending its normally that as in canary whard virgin active they have squash/tennis courts, cafe, spin studio, studio, jaccuzi, relaxation pool, 25 m pool with lounger chairs and a amazing veiw. changing rooms with ghd Hair Straighteners aswell as designer shower gel and shampoo and free fluffy towls and robes. It is millllles off la fitness which is good value for money but nothing in comparison. La fitness has a nice relaxing pool and the classes seem good aswell thats my main goal. chaning rooms could do with a bit of a clean more often. Personal trainers seem lovley as well as membership consultants but receptionists speek to you like a piece of dirt when you call up puting you on hold every minuite. And quite frankly i didnt ask you to make a booking system where you book for every class so dont act like im wasting your time when i call up to book one with a cocky tone ! Opening times are ok but not as good as there competitors they close a bit to early for my liking. But seems so far so good but if i keep geting attitude of the receptionist every time i call up to book a class its gonna pi** me off. I Lik to go to the gym no problem but i dont like the fact you gota book every class over the phone. Virgin active only used to book on weekends and with spin during peak hours and i preferd it that way.
